Speaking about his upcoming appearance at Lollapalooza, Zhang says, “It’s my first time performing at a festival in the US, and also my first collaboration with Alan Walker. I hope the audience will enjoy this live performance, and that more and more people will remember me, the Chinese artist Lay Zhang.”
Also known as Zhang Yixing, or simply “Lay,” the artist has already made a name for himself in Asia, specifically in South Korea as a member of the K-pop group, EXO. Although still part of the group, Zhang decided to branch out and work on his solo career in 2015, which has since been met with much success. His first solo mini album, Lose Control, charted at #4 on Billboard’s US World Albums chart and also broke the record for most sales in South Korea by a solo artist. The artist is reportedly working on another studio album, set to release in the near future.
We can’t wait to see what Lay Zhang and Alan Walker have up their sleeves for their collaborations stage tomorrow.
