Ed Sheeran is currently sitting pretty at the top of the UK singles chart with fan favourite ‘Perfect’, taken from his record breaking album ÷. The track had already peaked at number three, before a collaboration with Beyoncé pushed the song to the top.
However, with just one week to go until this year’s coveted Christmas UK number one is announced, Ed has one more trick up his sleeve. Today, he released an orchestral version of ‘Perfect’ featuring Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
Just when we thought the track couldn’t get any more perfect, Ed has surprised us once more. Orchestrated and produced by his brother Matt, ‘Perfect Symphony’ sees Ed deliver part of the song in Italian, whilst being joined by classical legend Andrea. The track is accompanied by a video which was recorded at Andrea’s home in Tuscany.
Dubbed as “a little gift for you all before Christmas”, check out ‘Perfect Symphony’ featuring Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli below.
Whilst Ed has his sights firmly set on bagging the festive number one, he’ll be facing tough competition from the likes of Mariah Carey and Wham!. Their legendary Christmas singles, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ and ‘Last Christmas’ are currently sitting at number two and three respectively.
Ed has dominated music in 2017 and has shown no signs of slowing down this week. Alongside another week at the top of the singles chart, his album ÷ is also back at the top. This is the third time that he’s achieved the Official Chart double this year.
Elsewhere, Ed features on Eminem’s new album Revival, which is out today. The pair have collaborated on a track called ‘Rain’. Ed also performed for Radio 1’s Live Lounge earlier in the week. Alongside a performance of ‘Perfect’, he covered the iconic ‘Fairytale of New York’ with Anne-Marie.
‘Perfect Symphony’ is available now.
